Groundworker / Drainage Engineer – Jet Rod Ltd (Swindon-Based)

Jet Rod Ltd is a trusted and well-established provider of drainage solutions across Swindon and the surrounding area. We’re currently looking for a Groundworker / Drainage Engineer to join our team, where hard work is recognised, team collaboration is valued and no two days are the same. Whether you're installing soakaways, excavating and reinstating drainage systems, or jetting out blocked pipes, you’ll be part of a hardworking and supportive team that values teamwork and takes pride in a job well done.

About the Role:

This is a physically active, outdoor position with a variety of tasks, including:

• ✅ Groundworks for drainage systems
• ✅ Drain repairs, reinstatement & soakaway installations
• ✅ Excavation and reinstatement (using excavators)
• ✅ High-pressure water jetting and drain unblocking
• ✅ CCTV drain surveys on residential and commercial properties

You’ll travel between jobs in a company vehicle, delivering safe and effective drainage solutions while maintaining excellent customer service. We believe great work starts with great teamwork. What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

• ✔ Hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious
• ✔ Experience in groundworks or excavation
• ✔ Good at problem-solving and working independently
• ✔ Team player with a strong work ethic
• ✔ Full UK driving licence
• ✔ Excavator licence or experience
• ✔ CSCS Card
• ✔ Willing to be part of the on-call rota (1 week in 5)

Desirable (but not essential – training provided):

• Previous experience in drainage or jetting

Additional Details:

• Location: Based in Swindon – covering approx. one hour radius
• DBS check required before employment
• Company vehicle provided for daily operations

Salary: Up to £40,000/year (based on experience, overtime & call-outs)
Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Location: Swindon and a radius of approx. one hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (some flexibility required)
On-Call: 1 week in every 5 (structured & fair rota)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year
